Improve your SEO ranking in Organic Listings:- How to use your blog to significantly increase traffic to your website
- How to Syndicate content to all corners of the web
- An Insight into Google’s “Real time”and “Social Search”
Blogs are a great way to get traffic to your website. Blogs aren’t just something you have on your site in the hope that someone will come and read it. You need to market your blog effectively. It’s your chance to increase traffic to your website by producing content that you know your target audience will be interested in.
There are many ways for you to position these blog postings in front of your target audience.
Here’s an example of one of our blog postings that is ranked number 1 in Google’s UK’s search listings for the key term; “Learn Internet Marketing“.

By Using Wordpress or any other blog software, you can create a blog campaign. Each blog campaign should be focused on a particular key word or phrase. The key word phrase for this particular campaign is: “Learn Internet Marketing”.
1. Hub Article
You should write a 500-1000 word blog posting with your key phrase (Learn Internet Marketing) in its title. In this case, this posting could be a general overview of the basics of  internet Marketing.
This blog posting will be the article that you will want to rank highest in Google’s Search pages if somebody “Google’s” a particular search query related to it. For this reason we can call this the “Hub” article of your campaign.
For organic search one of the most important things for website visibility is the amount of quality inbound links that are linking back to a given webpage. If a very popular and relevant webpage is linking to your Hub blog article URL, you will have a much better chance of appearing higher in Google’s SERPS(Search Engine Results Pages).
2. Supporting Blog Articles
After you have written and published your “Hub” article you should then create 3-4 supporting blog articles. Each of these will also be approximately 500-1000 words long. These postings might go into more detail about specific topics to do with “learning internet marketing” that you may have mentioned in your Hub article. One of them for example could be focused on PPC campaigns, while another, could be more focused on the advantages of social media.
You should then, back link all these supporting blog articles to your main hub article; “Learn Internet Marketing”.
This would involve using anchor text back links with different variations of the key words: “Learn internet marketing” in them. By doing this, you are transferring the authority of these blog postings to this hub article, making it more visible in Google for a user who might type in a relevant search query. These anchor text links will be more beneficial the higher positioned they are in each supporting article.
You should also cross link between the supporting blog postings as well as linking back to the “hub” article. This will also improve the authority of other supporting articles and they may also rank high in Google SERPS too.
You shouldn’t force too many cross links between postings as this can appear automated to Google’s crawlers.. Make sure the content that you are linking to is of high relevance or very little authority will be gained.
3. Use High Authority Article Sites
for Support
Google measures page rank by how many relevant inbound links are linking to a particular web page. The higher the page rank of the webpage that is linking to your hub article URL, the more authority your hub article will get in Google’s SERP’s.
To see individual page rank of any web page you can use the Rank Checker Tool. Just copy and paste the URL of the page into the bar and see for yourself. You may have hundreds of inbound links coming to one of your web page’s, but unless they are of relevant content and coming from high authority sites, they will do very little to improve your search engine ranking.
Some Article Sites would be well known for having high authority. Many of these would all have a page rank of at least 6/10 and would therefore transfer a significant amount of authority or “link juice” to your Hub article.
Some well know article sites that have very good recognition in Google are:
You should post small articles(300-500 words) on these sites to further support the “Learn Internet Marketing” keyword campaign. All of these articles should all have the key word:”learn internet marketing” in the title of them.
Each article should also have an anchor text link containing the keywords “learn internet marketing” in the first paragraph that links back to your hub blog article on your site. This should significantly increase the authority of the hub blog posting in Google’s SERP’S (Search engine results pages) allowing you to get more traffic from relevant key word searches.
Squiddoo and blogger.com have a page rank of 8!I’d recommend these from personal experience. Not only will these supporting articles pass on authority to your hub blog article, they will also provide you with a separate URL in Google’s SERP’s for each individual article site.
4. Content Syndication using social Media Sites.
Syndicating content on social media sites such as Digg and Reddit is important too. These sites give you the opportunity to post the URLS’s of your Hub article and the various other supporting articles you have written that also link back to this Hub article. Digg and Reddit both have a page rank of 8, so any content on these sites that is back linked to your Hub article should be very beneficial for its page rank. (Naturally any backlinks you get from these sites won’t be carrying link juice with Page Rank 8, but these examples are used to illustrate getting backlinks from authority websites!)
If your articles are interesting then more people will read them, creating a “social buzz”.This will improve the visibility of these articles in Google’s SERPS and on the individual social media sites as well.

5. Â Social Networking
By posting your blog URL’s across social networking sites you can also greatly increase the traffic to your website. Just make sure it’s a relevant article that your target audience will find interesting. With Google’s new Social Search and Real time search now in motion, we should be harnessing the power of these tools by broadcasting relevant content frequently on social networking sites. See below, how Google is now producing a Twitter feed at the top of the search results page.

You should install the Tweet function to all your blog postings as well as the Facebook share option. This gives your reader the chance to share your article with all their connections on these social networking sites with just the click of a mouse.
You can expose your article links to discussions in Linkedin or on your wall in Facebook. You should also use twitter to try expose your blog links instantly. Twitter.com has its own “twitter search”, allowing people to find you articles by using “Real time Search”. These social networking sites also have a very high page ranking and will get your brand more exposure in organic listings.(see above)
Download Hootsuite. This free piece of software provides you with a very efficient way of posting links to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook at the same time. This saves you time and effort by not having to log into your accounts in all of these sites and post your links separately.
Do you have problems getting traffic to your site? Do you just rely on PPC to get traffic to your site?

Your third point 3. Use High Authority Article Sites for Support , may backfire at you!
If you use your targeted keywords in the titles of your articles at hubpages or blogger, then those pages will rank higher than you! Thus, your SERP will be pushed further down..

@Rohit,
Thanks for your comment,
Your right in saying that, however this may not always be the case.
Your supporting articles should contain good content and a certain “call to action” to point people in the direction of your website! Thus,it is not necessarily a bad thing for this to happen.

It is not as easy as it sounds to gain a first position for widely used keywords or terms, especially for new entrants.

So is your Hub article static? This would be on your home page explaining what your website is about or what you do?

@Scott Your hubpage is static, but would not be your homepage. You should have several hubpages that promote different aspects of your business.

Someone always told me that nothing works without strategy. If you can’t get through something, find a way through it. I thought your post was very helpful because it showed that strategy to build exposure. Thanks.
